Language Services Associates Participates in Montgomery County’s
“Educator-in-the-Workplace” Program
Unique initiative designed to prepare students for the real world
Willow Grove, Pa. (June 11, 2009) – On Tuesday, June 16, Language Services Associates will host two local educators as part of Montgomery County’s “Educator-in-the-Workplace” program. Evelyn Martinez Dudonis, a Spanish teacher at Pottstown High School, and Stacy J. Anderson, a Career Counselor at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, will be spending the day with key members of the LSA team. The information gathered will be used to form lesson plans and shared with students currently studying world languages.
After being greeted by Tia Sweri, LSA’s On Location Department Assistant Manager, the group will head to Center City, Philadelphia to observe an LSA interpreter on location at a court proceeding. The group will then return to LSA’s headquarters where Mrs. Dudonis and Mrs. Anderson have been invited to learn about Translation and Localization with Patricia Carlin (Department Manager), Quality Assurance with Gahan Willis (Quality Assurance Specialist), Interpreting by Telephone with Lynn Dick (Department Manager) and Sales Support with Starla Keith (Director of Sales). The day will conclude with an interpreter training session, conducted by Armando Ezquerra Hasbun, LSA’s Director of Quality Assurance.
The Montgomery County Education and Workforce Partnership is a unique partnership which unites parents, school districts, local businesses, community-based organizations, labor associations, governmental agencies and higher education to prepare students for success in a career. The “Educator-in-the-Workplace” program has placed 250 teachers in 220 business sites throughout Montgomery County.
