Translation and Localization FAQ

How does INTERPRETRAC® Work?

INTERPRETRAC® works by allowing customers to submit documents for translation 24/7/365 through a secure online portal.  Your client services specialist, account manager or translation project manager can set up an account for you.

How long will it take to translate my documents?

Processing time depends on a variety of factors, including the number of words in the document, the file type and the rarity of the language requested.  To speed up the process, please provide editable files or design files including all images, fonts and instructions for handling.  If your project is urgent, we offer rush service for an additional fee.

How many languages do you provide?

We can translate into any standard world language; that is, any language having an alphabet and agreed upon grammar and spelling conventions.

What if I do not know the language of the source document?

Our project managers are trained to identify languages for our clients. Just let them know that you are not sure of the language, and they will be able to assist you.

Is this human or machine translation?

While we use software to improve consistency, all translations are done by people.  LSA is proud to provide human translation rather than machine translation.

How much will this cost?

Price per word varies based on the rarity of the language.  Other charges are hourly and include File Preparation, Desktop Publishing, Proofreading, Editing and Project Management.  We can also provide hard copies of your translated documents for an additional per-page fee.  The project manager assigned to you will provide a full explanation of the cost before doing any work.

Can I ask for a particular translator?

The translator(s) assigned to a particular project is determined by the project manager and is based on native language, experience, education and expertise in the subject area.  We will often align translators with individual clients to maintain consistency.

What if I have a problem with a translation project?

Where do I send requests for translation?

If you are a new client, please contact the sales department at (800) 305-9673 ext. 55305 or through our Web site at http://www.lsaweb.com/contact-sales.php.

If you are an existing client, you can email the document to translations@lsaweb.com or fax the document to 215-259-7362 and the translation division manager will assign it to a project manager.  Please include your contact information and any special instructions.

How can I pay for my translation?

If you are a new client, an account manager will be happy to set up an account for you.  We offer several payment options, including monthly invoice payments, based on service agreement, credit line or purchase order, and credit card payments for smaller projects.

How do you guarantee the quality of a translation?

All translators are screened by our vendor administrator.  Individual projects also have a number of other check points from editing to post DTP proofing, depending on the complexity of the project.
